-----Hairline finishing on Stainless Steel
2006
I want to impart hair line finish ( or mirror finish) on stainless steel blanks cut to size. I do not want to use pre finished & then PVC coated sheets, basically want to do the finishing in house. Blank sizes vary from 225X300 (mm) to 900X800 (mm).
I want a small system that can do this finishing may be using flap wheels, etc.
I would also like to know if an economical machine is available to impart this hair line finish on stainless steel to pre fabricated boxes (both rectangular & with some profile) & also to conical shapes like the conical shaped kitchen hoods

We are doing such jobs by polishing, lapping, buffing and chemically rinsing -- process is i14 steps. You have to go through all the 14 steps religiously to achieve the required mirror finish.

I think you should look into a wide belt sanding type machine system such as Timesaver. Belts can be purchased that provide a brushed appearance or a mirror finish. If you want to buff afterward that is also possible.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
