-----Relationship between kettle size and capacity?
I have a question for you; please reply to me .
I want to Zinc Slab charge a kettle of dimension 12 x 2 x 2 meters.
How much zinc slab must be used?
what is the relationship between kettle size and zinc capacity?
best regards,

Sir:
The density of molten zinc is about 7 metric tons/cubic meter. Thus if you fill you kettle to within about 8 cm from the top, then the required zinc is:
12M x 1.92M x 2M x 7MT/CuM = 322 metric tons
You kettle has a depth to width ratio of 1.00
(2M/2M = 1.00) With this low d/w ratio you will probably only get about 2 to 5 years kettle life depending on how properly your furnace is constructed. If your d/w ratio were around 1.5 then a 10+ year kettle life can be attained if the furnace is properly constructed and maintained.
