-----Will an e coating finish resist rust
We are a 6 year old company, that imports the fittings (clamps, hinges) for awnings. Our parts are galvanized malleable iron, with stainless steel hardware to resist rusting. Our manufacturer has suggesting e coating our products to improve resistance to rust. There is an increase cost, but we feel it is justified if the claims of salt test improvement are correct. We are a small company and would appreciate any expert opinion ⇦ huh?.

At my last shop in Illinois we spent the 1.2 mil to install an E-coat line for just that purpose. I'm certain that this process will meet your needs for rust resistance. We used the E-coat as an undercoat for our powder coat operation; but, were also able to use it as a solitary finish with thicker application of the product. I highly recommend utilizing E-coat, it is well worth the investment. Plus, you can shop outside jobs to help make back your investment more quickly.
