Mechanical Zinc Plating

We need to know what the chemical analysis of mechanical zinc is.
Karen Kirby
Springfast - Providence, Rhode Island
2006

Mechanically deposited zinc is approximately 95% zinc and 5% tin. Since the zinc dust on eBay or Amazon [affil link] is almost always produced by a distillation process (the Larvik Process) from Special High Grade Zinc, it is extremely pure. The tin comes from the "Promoter" used in the process. Underneath the mechanically deposited zinc is (99+% of the time) a deposit of immersion copper approximately 9 millionths of an inch thick.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
