Electrochemical machining (stem drilling)




Would nickel tubing work for the stem drilling process (electrochemical machining) in place of titanium and ss tubing for deep hole drilling in alloy materials.

To answer your question, no. Teflon coated Titanium is the only material to be used for STEM. I have done STEM work for over seven years until recently.

Hey I know this guy and he's right. Teflon coated titanium cathodes are the only thing that will work.
