Rack plating - process description




Hello All. This is my first thread and please be lenient. I have a problem with rack plating. my supplier produce for my shells with tin cover - rack plating. In places when shells have contact with rack tin have value below tolerance and appear a black stains. Will great if somebody will help me in this case - how improve this defect? I try to find also a description for rack plating method . Thanks for help.

Hi Peter. Rack plating means the parts were hung on hooks. The hook draws current and consequently it will leave "rack marks" like you describe. However, it may well be possible to rack the parts better so that the rack marks are smaller and in a inconspicuous area.

There is nothing to worry.
Just use copper jigs or wires for electrical connections.
That will help you to avoid contact marks.
