-----Longitudinal polishing of SST tubing
2006
I'm a hygienic tubing and valve supplier in Malaysia,we have intention to start up our own polishing work-shop. Due to we only have some experience in mechanical polishing job, I hope to know more procedure to achieve good polishing. Our standard of finishing is Ra 0.4 to o.6. Did ultrasonic method is good enough to clean up the product after polish,What is passivation?
Secondly, what is the advantage of longitudinally polish of pipe compare to rotary polish,is the cost of longitudinally much higher than rotary?
Thank you,
stainless steel - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Passivation is the removal of free iron from the surface by means of a citric acid or nitric acid bath, followed by the subsequent formation of a protective chromium oxide layer. ASTM A967 is one specification you can refer to.
