Don't know firsthand, but believe AMS2485 is more specific regarding QC sampling and inspection.

2006
MIL-C-13924 (now MIL-DTL-13924D) specifies a chromic acid sealer after processing (Class 1, 2, and 4).
AMS2485J does not include the chromic acid treatment.
