Etchant for cold worked 6000 series Al alloys


I want to know the exact etchant to see the grain boundary of severely cold worked 6000 series Al alloys. Please help me.

Hi,
Sorry, I didn't see your query before. Anyway you can use either of these two:
1. 5% HF + 10% H2SO4 + 85% H2O [by swabbing 2-3 minutes at room temp.].

OR
2. 10%H3PO4.
