Gold colored electroplating of copper wire

How can I get colour of 16K / 22K gold without using gold or gold cyanide solutions by electroplating on silver plated copper wire /strips?

Brass is probably as close a color as you'll get by electroplating. You can get closer in color by electrophoretic lacquering. Although vacuum depositing ZrNi would also work, it's not applicable to a very small installation.
