In the USA many generators of waste are categorically regulated, which means the answer to your question may have two parts. While one of the requirements is technically appropriate treatment, the other requirement which may also be applicable is categorically appropriate handling. That is, some industries can simply toss waste that is not hazardous, others must handle the purest water as hazardous waste. Contact the manufacturer to learn what hazardous ingredients (if any) are in this proprietary solution and how to treat them, then investigate whether you are categorically regulated.
