Tarnish on silver jewelry

I am a hand-made jewelry maker and am part of an international group of jewelry makers. We would like information on preventing and/or removing tarnish from our silver components in our jewelry.

There must be dozens of commercial polishes and tarnish removers, Jane, plus mechanical buffing methods, home-brew approaches, etc. Likewise, there are many broad technologies directed at preventing silver tarnish. Someone could spend 2 days writing fifty pages here and perhaps not reveal anything that a professional like you doesn't already know. Please try to pose a more specific question. Thanks!
