Removing etch lines from IN718

I am looking for a solution to remove etch lines from a sheet of IN718 that has been electroetched with the following solution: 25 g CrO3, 130 ml acetic acid on eBay or Amazon [affil link] , 7 ml distilled water, 10 V.

I don't think you're going to be able to do that, Anna. Remember that the electroetch already done created the etch lines by removing the most chemically active areas. Any corrosion agent (etch) that you immerse the piece in will only corrode it more, right? And I can't think of anything that will etch the more corrosion resistant areas in preference to the less corrosion resistant.

Good luck!

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
