Finish for zinc casting

2006

We currently call out Iridite 8P for surface finish on zinc components. Is an equivalent or similar RoHS compliant surface treatment available?

Phil Faluotico

2006

Iridite 8P can be used to provide a number of different finishes with different corrosion resistances i.e. yellow, clear (from leached yellow) etc. You need to determine what color and corrosion resistance constraints are and then to specify these with RoHS compliance rather than a specific proprietary chemical.
