Saltwater resistant fasteners
I need a saltwater corrosion resistant fastener. I've been using galvanized lag bolts in a construction process with reasonable success. However being here in Florida saline brackish environments are common and I need a fastener that is resistant to corrosion in those environments. I'm fastening rubber belting together, so the portion of the fastener that's embedded in the rubber itself is pretty well sealed away from the corrosive environment. However the lag head and the washer are both exposed and represent a substantial percentage of the fastener's holding potential. Any suggestions as to coatings treatments, or altogether different type fastener are welcome. These fasteners will be required in the thousands.

E-coat is a good process that will give your fasteners excellent corrosion resistance. The application process allows you to coat the threads and the entire bolt. You should have no problem withstanding 1000 hrs of salt spray hours, and even more.
