Powder Coating Automobile Front End Parts

2006

In building up a custom frame for a client who is going to Powder Coat frame, engine, rear end, and transmission, I need to know if there are any known detrimental effects of Powder Coating on front end components (i.e. spindles, disk brake brackets, etc).

The answer is in the process, the parts will be cleaned and chemically pretreated, then painted and put in an oven at a high temperature(around 400 degrees) for a long time. The time in the oven will depend on the thickness of the part, and the coater can give you a time estimate. So all you have to do is look at the part you are thinking about coating and decide if it can withstand the process without being compromised.
