What is rapid nitriding process?

Hello sirs,

What is rapid nitriding process tell me the full procedure of it.
does rapid nitriding give better depth of hardness than gas nitriding & what is the total project cost?

What is ion implantation tell me in brief and cost of the project?

is it possible to carry out this process on plastic processing Extruders screw and barrel?

Well, if you are speaking of 'plasma' or 'ion' nitriding, then you are talking of a process wherein a negatively charged part pulls nitrogen ions into it, thereby increasing the effective diffusion coefficient. It CAN work well, and be anywhere from less expensive to far more expensive than conventional nitriding.

Ion implantation is a process, done in a vacuum, wherein high energy ions are shot at your part. It gives a thin affected zone, much thinner than conventional nitriding. It would work well in some applications, horrible in others, and is a line-of-sight process taking place in a vacuum. Generally more expensive than conventional nitriding, but it depends on the individual application. Get a quote from someone who does the process, and you'll have a much better idea which processes make the most sense for your extruder screws and/or barrels.
