HELP! Need a Process Control Specification (not material spec) for Powder Coating

2006

I am an engineer for a custom machine tool builder. I need a process control specification to which I can refer when specifying a Powder Coat finish on parts/products my company manufactures. We contract job shops for our finishing needs.
I'm able to find material specifications (from product manufacturers), and I have reviewed MIL-PRF-24712, but that MIL standard speaks primarily to requirements specific to the Navy (containers, storage, navy color standards, etc.).
Can someone help me identify a control standard?
For example, we specify Anodizing per MIL-A-8625 / MIL-PRF-8625 [on DLA]F, Zinc plating per ASTM B633, etc.

How about BS 6497, and BS 6496.
