How to make black color on SS304 steel

Is there a chemical process to make black color on steel 304 and 316 operating at room temperature, or less than 100 °C?

Try to obtain old Fishlocks handbook on metal colouring -- you can find some interesting formulas for colouring of SS. Hope it helps and good luck!
