How do I minimize orange peel?

2006

Hello, I just recently painted my 2004 Suzuki motorcycle. It was my very first paint job and after applying the clear coat, I ended up with a bit of orange peel. I have another bike that I want to paint. Is there a way to spray or prepare the clear so as to minimize orange peel or is color sanding the only way to fix this? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the time and attention.

Check with a local body shop. After 2 or 3 coats of clear, it is sanded (400,800, 1000,1500) and them buffed to remove the orange peel. Just don't sand thru the clear coat.
Good luck.

You might try a single stage paint, there isn't any orange peel if you apply it correctly.
