-----Alochrome Health and Safety
I was told at work that Alochrome was not available as it had been withdrawn on health and safety issues. Anyone care to clarify what the risk is?

This is a question that I think would be very uncomfortable for anyone but the manufacturer to try to answer. Have you contacted them?

The Alochrome process uses hexavalent chromium which is restricted by RoHS that comes into force shortly.
