Bright nickel-free plating wanted cheap

I am into electroplating on plastics and considering that the cost of nickel is increasing steadily...would want to know if there is any cheaper substitute to bright nickel plating after bright acid copper plating for chrome.

I think as on today there is no substitute for Nickel in this case.
