Anodizing using the barrels

2006

To whom it may concern:

I was assigned to improve the quality of the finishing product using anodizing barrels. It is almost impossible not to have defect parts using a barrels, but is there any methods that I can reduce the amount of defect parts. Is etching plays the important roles for cleaning prior to anodizing? How long do you submerge the parts into the caustic soda [affil links] solution? Is there any relations between current and weight of the parts in regarding to the anodizing process? Thank you for reading this letter

Sincerely,

Stephen Shin

Depending on your definition of defect free, it is nearly impossible for bulk anodizing since you can not control contact points. I would consider prep steps in stainless mesh baskets where you manually agitate and mix the parts so they are uniformly cleaned/prepped, and then pour them in a proper basket for anodizing. Note, that you are asking for information without giving much. The quality of answer is almost always proportional to the quality of the information given.
