Flat Black Coating for Stainless Steel

I am looking for a black coating for stainless steel that: 1)is non-reflective (flat), 2) is chip, wear & scratch resistant 3) is non-abrasive.

I do not think that there is anything that will completely satisfy your desires. Black chrome will probably come the closest.

There are a number of PVD coatings that are black and wear resistant. However, the surface finish reflects the surface finish of the stainless steel. If you want a matte appearance, you'll need to start with a matte surface.
