I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP WITH MY CHROME TANK

2006

THE PARTS ARE PRODUCING A LINE ON THE HCD. IF YOU TRY TO BUFF THE LINE OFF YOU BUFF STRAIGHT TO THE NICKEL, ALSO IF YOU USE A HAND POLISH IT WILL GO STRAIGHT TO NICKEL. OUR TANK WAS OUT OF RANGE AND WE NEEDED BARIUM CARBONATE. I ADDED THAT AND IT'S STILL NO BETTER. I AM AT MY WITS END WITH THIS TANK. IF YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Just wondering what the sulphate levels are in your tank. Also how much barium have you put in so far.

Brad Standifer

A long time ago I was involved in chrome plating residential hardware. One thing that I remember was that our chrome plating solution had a high level of copper and zinc impurities. This would sometimes give us cloudy deposits. We were able to operate by continuing to increase the chrome content. We were something like 20% over the recommended maximum content in order to overcome the effects of the impurities. If you haven't replaced found a fix by now, try doing some plating test in the lab with increase chrome content.
