Gold plating Specifications for contacts

i am a engineering student researching gold plating finishing techniques and quality standards for my final year dissertation.I am creating a document with regards to the wear, contact resistance of various gold plated sensors to be used as electrical/electro-mechanical contacts in the vehicle manufacturing industry. I would be grateful about sources I could look into.

I am ultimately looking for a spec. to plate contacts that will be used within a motion sensor that will be placed in high performance vehicles.
