What Materials Can Be Anodized
Q. WHAT MATERIALS BESIDES ALUMINUM CAN BE ANODIZED?
DOUG HORN- SMITHTOWN, New York
1999
A. Magnesium, stainless steel, titanium, and zinc are four that I can think of offhand, Doug. Note, though, we're speaking of the ability of a material to form some sort of useful oxide skin when anodically oxidized under the right conditions -- we're not talking about materials that you can just drop into a tank designed for anodizing of aluminum, nor will you get similar results like dyeability or hardness. Please don't keep your question so abstract and we can probably help you a lot better! Regards,

A. Hi, Peter. We have an FAQ about surface finishing of magnesium at finishing.com/faqs/magnesium.shtml that is a great starting point towards listing those processes and standards.
Then see if you can possibly find an old copy of Dow's Magnesium Finishing Handbook. =>
Good luck.
