1045 Steel has become magnetic

I have some carbon steel grade 1045 that is acting as a "Magnet" This is unusual.
What causes this to happen?

Magnetization will occur due to proximity to any magnetic source such as an electric bobbin or a permanent magnet such as a magnetic grinding table, also due mechanical work.
