Need E-coating service for stampings, car parts & bodies

RFQ: Who currently does your e-coating? Thank you.I heard of one in the Carolinas. I found their site once but cannot re-find it. They baked-dipped for rust, e-coated for finish. Would appreciate even current e-coaters. Thank you

RFQ: I'm looking for a shop that can e-prime a car body. I'm restoring a 1970 Chevelle and had it stripped. Thanks,

What technology was used for the stripping, Brook -- media blasting, rather than immersion?

I don't know of any aftermarket e-coating shops myself; it's probably expensive to rig the lines for individual cars of varying dimensions. I think you may end up having to do a different kind of priming, but maybe you can find a lead in Hemmings Motor News. Good luck.

A. There is one that I am aware of that could be close enough to make it worthwhile to do your Chevelle, but that's up to you. Here's a link to a Charger being restored: www.69hemi.com/sheet.html

The company that dipped this car is Restoration Specialties in Milwaukee, WI. I have never used them, nor contacted them, but you might want to try.

RFQ: Have a large government contract for coil springs that require e-coating and CARC coating. Need to find a vendor that can supply both coatings in one facility. CARC would require liquid dip not spray. Contract is for 15 months with more to come.

RFQ: I'm looking for an E-Coat Supplier located on the West Coast. The body is white with high strength steel. The size is small, approx. 5 ft to 8 feet long. This is a very small sampling of what we will need to have done for next months' requirements. We work within the entertainment industry and will have a wide variety of needs located close to our customer.

RFQ: I am searching for an e-coating service capable of doing an entire car body as well, but locally . Bob D [last name deleted for privacy by Editor]

RFQ: Need a 'job shop' type service that can e-coat classic car parts. Parts range in size from hoods, fenders, doors, and trunk lids...to whole auto bodies (disassembled of course). Prefer a service company that also does the pre-cleaning before e-coating (dip/strip or oven bake-off) to bring parts to bare metal first. Right now I use two separate companies to do the stripping/cleaning and e-coating.

Regards...

RFQ: Hello.

I've noticed that the companies that do this e-coating are all back east. One would think that as many cars here in So. Calif., there would be several companies out west offering this service to people who would like this process applied to their car. Can anyone post some names of companies here in Orange County if any or even So. Calif. would work?

Thanks, Joe
