Colouring Stainless and plated steels

I would like to colour stainless steel in a range of bright colours, is this possible using anodising? The stainless steel which is in the form of 49 strand wire needs to remain flexible following its treatment. It is in 1 mm to 3 mm diam. and lengths of about 4 inches. The number of lengths are only a few 100 per colour. I would also like to colour plated steel in the same colours as the stainless steel, in this case the steel structure is rigid. I look forward to your reply.
