-----Need info about Black coating on Nitinol
I am interested in a chemical (non-thermal) method for producing non-reflective black coating onto nitinol surgical instruments - any ideas?

In my experience most nitinol comes out with a black finish after heat treating. The black finish is a heavy oxide layer. To get nitinol bright a long electropolish must be undertaken.
Is it possible to just leave the oxide coating on the instruments?
