High corrosion resistance coatings for die-cast zinc?
Currently looking to design an outdoor lawn product made of die-cast zinc. We powder coat most of our current zinc parts. With this particular product we need a coating with high corrosion resistance since this part will be used outdoors in the elements. Not familiar with metal coatings since most of our products are plastic. Any idea on what type of coatings can be used for this application would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Indeed Mr. Porat is correct. IZA tested a number of finishes for zinc die castings a few years ago and found electrocoatings to generally be the best.
Finishing.com has been retained by IZA to update and expand upon this test, and a number of different finishes including electrocoated finishes are in the test cabinet. The best solution may be to electrocoat the parts then powder coat them. Good luck.
