Hot bluing double barrels

Q. I have a Savage combo over-under 22 mag / shotgun. Can I have it hot-blued or will the process damage the joint between the barrels?

A. Mark, you should be just fine with hot bluing on this gun. The older double barrels where put together with soft solder that would come apart with the heat and chemicals from hot bluing, but newer guns don't have that problem.
