Black oxide process required




hello : can anyone provide me with the chemistry and process for black oxide process (hot)? I have small quant of parts and will set up in house system. thanks for the help ms.

Mike - Without knowing what your plant capability is, I still would recommend finding a job shop that will do a small quantity run for you. It will probably cost much less than trying to set up all of the necessary heating units (hot black oxide runs at 285 degrees F) and all of the ventilation required to ensure a safe workplace (the caustic fumes are hazardous). A local shop usually has a minimum fee that is pretty affordable for small quantities.
