Removing graphite.... how?

(1999)

What process on our rack line can remove powdered graphite from the surface of our hose couplings ? Due to our process, we are required to use this at points of producing them. I am having bleed through on the parts that have the graphite, and others, the plate will not stick properly. The rectifier is not doing the job. Any ideas, please let me know. Thanks and have a good one.

Unfortunately it may be good old fashioned elbow grease. We are a job shop metal finisher and see all kinds of soil. We usually hand wipe with heavy cotton gloves prior to soak and electroclean. Although being labor intensive, it beats plating rejects.

Hi James , I suspect that what you need is a strong Alkaline Deruster solution that is used hot & with Anodic Current at between 50 amps / square foot ( asf ) and 25 (asf ); go to one of the major suppliers listed in this web site .
