Protecting brass exterior Coach Lights from tarnish

Q. Recently purchased three brass coach lights for the exterior of my home. Was wondering if anyone out there knows of a product or procedure to keep them from turning dark and tarnished during the winter months, or a way of restoring them in the spring. We live in Michigan and have ugly winters, plus my home faces the west where all the bad weather hits us first. Thank you in advance for any help you may be.

A. Any metal exposed to the outdoors is going to suffer some and have a limited life. These coach lights are presumably lacquered (painted without pigment) because they would quickly tarnish even indoors if they were not. So it is probably an issue of periodically stripping off the old lacquer and re-lacquering them.
