Galvanic action on dissimilar material joint
I am involve in sheet metal industry, I like to know what reaction will be happen to joined dissimilar material at room temperature, varies from 25 to 35 °C. The material combination is
316L Stainless steel and Electro galvanized steel which is used as liner plates in side of stainless steel door. The fasteners all are stainless steel and some place use welding also. The doors are using in water reclamation & treatment plant
Kindly advice this combination of metal is compatibility? Is it any other better combination? What about galvanic action, corrosion.
SHEET METAL MANUFACTURING - SINGAPORE
EVERYTHING rusts in a treatment plant, even the stainless steel. I would make a small sample of the combination of metals and orientation, and put them in a neutral salt spray cabinet to see what happens.
