Tin Ceiling Tiles-Painting

2005

I have tin ceiling panels that I want to make into a headboard for my bed. They are unfinished tin.

I want the final result to look like aged copper - a green patina finish. Any ideas how to get that, and also, should I prime them first? I live in Houston and even though we use A/C ALL year here, I don't want any discoloration when I finish them.

thanks!

Seal the tin with Rustoleum metal primer (white), allow to try. Then apply copper metallic surfacer on eBay or Amazon [affil link] . Do not allow to dry. While the surfacer is still wet you can apply green patina [affil link] directly to the wet copper. The Rustoleum is available from Lowes or their competitor. When you are done, seal the entire project with clear lacquer from spray cans. Best of luck.....

We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
