Comparison between Autophoretic and Electrodeposition

2005

We are manufacturers of handicraft metal items in India.

We want a non-glossy black coating on a MS wire mesh item. Salt spray requirement is 100 hours only. Production plan is non-regular.

Please advise whether Autophoretic or Electrodeposition would be suitable.

I'd bet that Henkel would tell you that autophoretic is better, while PPG would tell you that electropainting is better :-)

But my understanding is that if it needs to be decorative, autophoretic may be the wrong choice, but if it doesn't, then autophoretic is a great choice.

autophoretic 866 give black matt with reaction rinse 2150 and will reduce coating cost per unit area.
