Most etches for Aluminium and alloys contain HF and other acids, used by dipping or swabbing.
I normally use Flick's reagent = 10%HF, 15%HCl in water.
Or Kellers reagent = 1% HF, 1.5% HCl, 2.5% HNO3 in water is slower.
But be careful, keep HF off your skin.
