RFQ: Looking for suppliers qualified to apply high purity aluminum in accordance with MIL-DTL-83488, Class 3, Type II or AMS2427 [link by ed. to spec at TechStreet].

Deposition methods further need to be densified by glass or ceramic bead peening as specified in AMS 2427.
Electrochemical aluminum deposition does not require the peening operation.

RFQ: Hello,

I'm in need of a price quote for plating of the test coupons type 1d (notched C-ring) detailed in ASTM F519 [link by ed. to spec at TechStreet] . The details are listed below.
48 samples at each of the following:

1) LHE Cd Plating-The LHE Cd plated specimens shall be plated all over following AMSQQP416 [link by ed. to spec at TechStreet] Type II (with supplementary chromate conversion coat applied after bake), Class 2 (0.0003 to 0.00049 inch thickness).
2) LHE Cd Plating with Bare Notch Area-The LHE Cd plated specimens to be tested with a bare notch area shall be masked and then plated in accordance with QQ-P-416 Type II (with supplementary chromate conversion coat applied after bake), Class 2 (0.0003 to 0.00049 inch thickness). Masking Prior to Plate-The notch and approximately ? inch on either side of the notch shall be masked to prevent Cd deposition.
3) IVD Aluminum coating following MIL-DTL-83488 [link by ed. to spec at TechStreet]D, Class 2 type II coating.

I am looking for a business that can perform an Ion Vapor Deposited Aluminum Coating per MIL-C-83488.

Material to be treated -- 4340 Steel COND C SAE-AMSS5000
Heat Treat to 150 KSI UTS Rockwell C 34-38 per SAE-AMSH6875
Parts will be shot peened
**Apply Aluminum Coating per MIL-C-83488, Class 1, Type II. Do not plate holes**
25 pc 1.25" x 2" x 8.25"
25 pc 1.5" x 2" x 15.75"
25 pc 2" x 2" x 10.75"
Each Part will have 3 holes ranging from 3/8" to 15/16" and the holes are not to be plated.
