Pattern building process for nickel

1999

Hello!

I'm looking for a process for electroplating steel substrates with nickel. I have two purposes, substrate pre treatment to get a smooth surface and secondary for pattern building. The pattern building will be done with some kind of photoresist for masking. The pattern line width is less than 1.5 micrometers.

Do you have any suggestions where to turn to?

Sounds like you need a book on electroforming. This is frequently done with sulfamate nickel because it is the closest to zero internal stress of most plated metals and can be put on in rather thick coating.

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
