Salt spray testing: effect of conductivity of deionised water

Dear sir,
I have query regarding general salt spray testing procedure. I want to know about effect of conductivity of deionised water on salt sray testing.

What is effect whether higher conductivity increase the severity of salt spray testing.
As per OUR JIS (japanese standard) it's 1 micro siemens/cm and below.

We are able to form a deionised water of this conductivity.

I will be very grateful if you can explain the effect by chemical reaction occurring during salt spray testing.

It is certainly well to control and monitor everything you can, but the conductivity of the solution used in the test (water with 5% salt and up) has to be so high that the conductivity of the initial DI water has no discernible effect on it. The advantage of DI water in this instance would be freedom from contaminants, not low conductivity.
