Removing chrome plating from cast bronze or brass

Will using muraitic acid to remove chrome plating from cast bronze or brass cause damage to either of the two metals? also what is a good neutralizing agent to wash the metal in after stripping?

You'll only ruin the parts, Matt. The acid will dissolve the brass faster than it will remove the nickel plating. Take the parts to a plating shop.
