Trying to clean some STUFF off my pipes

I have chromed exhaust pipes on my motorcycle and from normal use it has some stuff on it; it's not rust or anything like that, it looks like baking soda or something was on it, just doesn't shine like it used to; any suggestions?

Have you tried an SOS pad ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] ? It will work.
