Sealing 45% Chromic Acid

Does anyone have any advise with regards sealing a solution of chromic acidused to treat aluminium aircraft wing components.

We have a double cartridge mechanical seal and have a higher pressure towns water barrier fluid but are getting seal failures within 3 weeks.

The pump is a standard end suction centrifugal type.

Any advise greatly appreciated.

It is a little unclear from your letter what your problem is but it seems to be that the shaft seal of your pump is not lasting.

We have a few pumps pumping chromic acid but it is 4.5% not 45% as per your post.

Please can you give some information such as the make of the pump, the model and if you asked if was chemical proof?

The main problem might be you have the wrong pump for the job.
