Safety of engineered wood flooring

2005

We are in the process of shopping for new wood flooring. the majority of wood flooring are the engineered wood floors
Is the aluminum oxide used in the finishing process of the engineered flooring safe?
I'm concerned with the health of safety issue of aluminum oxide.

Lydia Ornelas

A quick safety briefing is do not wear, eat, drink, breath or smoke any chemical and you will be fine. Aluminum oxide is only bad if you breathe a lot of very very fine particles. So if you sand or saw it, wear one of those cheap particle masks like the dentists use.
