Paint finish for old Peacock wood cook stove

2005

I live in Nova Scotia Canada. I am trying to find out where to get paint to repair, rusted or bare metal spots on my old Peacock wood cook stove. It is a dark cream or almond color. Please can someone help me in this.

Thanks,

Sorry - I cannot help you - just wanted to know if you found out anything because I have a problem as well. After self cleaning my oven - brown residue steamed out on my oven door - looks nasty - will not come off as it apparently got baked on in the cleaning process. I'm thinking about painting a scene on my oven door.
Do you know what kind of paint I should use? I thought - perhaps I could use the same one you used on your antique stove. By the way - love your stove.
If you can help - I would certainly appreciate it.
THANKS.

I also have a Peacock wood stove from Lunenburg foundry and engineering. The outside edges and main body of my stove are a salmon colour with the center of the doors being a cream colour.I have pictures that I can e-mail. I just purchased new stove fire box linings from Vintage wood stoves in Washington state. The stoves are, from what I gather, from Rex based on a 1920's Cribbean & Sexton Company pattern.

I, too, have a Peacock stove. It is in pretty good shape with cream colored enamel. One warming oven door is chipped. base needs either paint or chrome. Is there a collectors group? How should I treat the metal to keep it rust free?

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
