HOW TO SEPARATE OUT NICKEL sulphate AND NICKEL CHLORIDE FROM BRIGHT NICKEL SOLUTION

2005

ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO SEPARATE OUT NICKEL sulphate AND NICKEL CHLORIDE SOLID FROM BRIGHT NICKEL SOLUTION ( THE SOLUTION CONCENTRATION --NICKEL METAL 13.0 OZ/GAL , NICKEL CHLORIDE 9.0 OZ/GAL , BORIC ACID 6.0 OZ/GAL AND BRIGHTENER )?

I have some trouble understanding what you want to do. Do you want to separate the individual nickel salt compounds or do you want to remove the nickel salts from the organics and boric acid?

Once a mixture of salts are in solution they form ions. It is then impossible to separate these ions and put them back in the form they began. However, you can precipitate the chloride by adding a soluble silver salt. If you know how much silver you add and how much silver chloride you get back, you can calculate the amount of chloride in solution and then the amount of nickel chloride that generated that amount of chloride. However, I do not think that is what you actually want.

Mr Popat PatelA nickel Plating solution consisting of Niso4 . Nicl2 and H3Bo3 can be treated to recover either Nickel sulphate , or Nickel Chloride. The boric portion may not be recovered. It takes a set of ion exchange columns. Investment and installation. This suggestion is useful for regular recovery of useful Nickel salts from a dragout solution.BUT you can't do what you have asked.Regards
