Anode bags required for power acid tank

We have power acid tank with 9-10% by vol. sulfuric acid concentration and reverse current for our apllication.Do we need the bags for lead anodes ? if answer is yes why do we need bags for anodes?.

Have you considered using carbon anodes. I try not to suggest lead anodes because of the possiblility that any dissolved lead in solution will then become effluent
